January 2026 – Meeting on Saturday January 31st
Dear North Bloomfield and Cooper Road Area Neighbors:
The Bloomfield and Cooper Community Association (BACCA) is holding its third community meeting at Diamond Arrow Conference Center, 15742 North Bloomfield Road, on Saturday, Jan 31, 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
This meeting is less meeting and more community gathering to get some information to help make our neighborhood fire resilient.
What Will Happen at This Meeting?
- Introduction to Firewise: Learn about the national Firewise USA program and its goal to help neighbors reduce wildfire risk.
- Community Involvement: Learn about area boundaries, meet neighbors in your area, and encourage residents to get involved.
- Education & Planning: Booths to cover topics like home hardening, evacuation plans, and how to fill out forms to better help your neighborhood.
- Community Building: Build stronger neighborhood bonds as we work together.
- Eat: Treats are encouraged…bring something to share.
BACCA is now officially recognized by the National Fire Protection Association. Our firewise community includes Cooper Road, sections of North Bloomfield and some adjoining areas. BACCA is part of an important and empowering Nevada County endeavor to increase proactive measures in mitigating the threat of fire. Your home/property is included on the official Firewise map (attached).
Our firewise community is working on heightened awareness of fire safety protocols, mapping escape routes (existing, needing improvement or prospective routes), improved and efficient communications and infrastructure, fuel reduction projects, prescribed burns, neighborhood meetings, group property projects, and more.
Please feel free to contact us at any time. And please, share this letter with anyone who may not have received it. Or better yet, bring someone who has not yet attended one of our meetings with you. We look forward to a strong turnout, to share up-to-date information and to address what makes our neighborhood safer. See you on January 31st!
Sincerely,
Your BACCA Committee neighbors
